New cards

Sensorineural hearing loss

damage to the chicken and/or the vistibulocochlear nerve… specific to the inner workings…

when performing ear tests this ear is quieter than the other when tuning fork on top of head and both levels take less time rather than only the 2x not reaching 2x for one side.

14
New cards

Conductive hearing loss

damage/blockage of the external or middle ear

When performing ear tests if it is louder in the affected ear it is likely a conductive hearing loss. If when the tuning fork is by the ear rather than right behind/contact and takes less than 2x compared to the other side it likely is a conductive hearing loss.
