Pedicure
A cosmetic service performed on the feet by a licensed cosmetologist or nail tech. Were rarely performed up and through the 1980s
Pedicures include
Callus reduction, foot and leg massage, masks, toenail trimming, shaping, and polishing, leg and feet exfoliation, foot soak, moisturizer
Pedicure stool/footrest
Used to maintain a healthy posture. the pedicure stool is usually low to make it ergonomically easier for the pedicurist to work on client's feet

Hot stones
usually an upscale service included in the massage of the feet and legs
Curette
An implement with a small scoop-shaped end that, if carefully used, allows for more efficient removal of debris from the nail folds, eponychium, and hyponychium areas
Nail Rasp
Metal impliment with a groove edge used for filing and smoothing the edges of the nail plate is banned in many states. a timesaving implementation and an important ingrown toenail prevention tool
Toenail clippers
Specifically designed for shortening toenails and are larger than fingernail clippers
Toenail Nippers
Similar to fingernail nippers, but have a larger hinge box and are longer and thicker. use toenail nippers carefully to prevent trapping the toes skin in the jaw.
Pedicure Nail File
For toenails, a medium file grit will work best. A fine grit will work best for finishing and sealing edges
Foot Files
Also known as pedicure paddles, designed to reduce and smooth thicker feet, gently removing dry skin and calluses
Pedicure slippers
Are provided for those clients who have not worn open-toed shoes and want to avoid smudging their newly applied toenail polish or for those who are having other services in the spa
Foot Soak
Put into water in the bath to cleanse and soften the skin on the feet during soak time
Exfoliating Scrub
Used to reduce dry, flaky skin and reduces calluses and leave skin feeling smooth and moisturized
Masks
Concentrated treatment product, often composed of mineral clays, moisturizing agents, skin softeners, aromatherapy oils, botanical extracts, and other beneficial ingredients to cleanse, exfoliate, tighten, tone, hydrate, and nourish the skin
Foot Lotions/ Creams
used to moisturize skin of the feet, soften calluses, and provide slip during massage
Callus softeners
Products are designed to soften and smooth thickened tissue. Always wear safety eyewear to avoid accidental eye exposure and gloves
Reflexology
unique method of applying pressure with the thumb and index fingers to the hands and feet. Promotes health and benefits to specific parts of the body
