Lesson 1: Solution Stoichiometry

Stoichiometry

• a section of chemistry that involves using relationships between reactants and/or products in a chemical reaction to determine desired quantitative data

• in Greek, stoikhein means element and metron means measure, so stoichiometry translated means the measure of elements

Solution Stoichiometry

• deals with stoichiometric calculations in solutions that involve volume and molarity

Titration

• used to determine the quantity or amount of a substance in a solution
