Meteorologist
A scientist who studies the weather and forecasts the weather for specific areas.
Weather
Atmospheric conditions in a particular location over a short period of time, including temperature, precipitation, clouds, humidity, wind, and atmospheric pressure.
Climate
Average seasonal weather patterns of a region over a long period of time (30 years or more), influencing the types of plants and animals in the area.
Temperature
The degree or intensity of heat present in a substance or object, measured in Celsius (°C).
Precipitation
Condensed water that falls to the ground, such as snow, rain, sleet, or drizzle, measured in millimeters (mm).
Clouds
Condensed water or ice particles too small to fall to the ground.
Humidity
The relative amount of water vapor in the air, measured in percentage (%).
Wind
The movement of air over the Earth's surface, measured in kilometers per hour (km/h).
Atmospheric Pressure
A measure of the force per unit area produced by gas particles in the atmosphere, measured in kilopascal (kPa).
Low Pressure
Weather condition associated with cloudy and rainy weather.
High Pressure
Weather condition associated with clear and sunny weather.
Energy from the Sun
Heating the Earth's atmosphere and creating winds.
Interaction between water and air on Earth
Causes evaporation, condensation (cloud formation), and precipitation.
