Pareto Analysis
A technique that helps to prioritize problems based on their frequency and impact, based on the 80/20 rule.
Scatter Diagram
A graphical representation of the relationship between two variables, used to identify correlations.
Cause-and-Effect Diagram (Fishbone)
A visual tool that helps identify root causes of a problem by categorizing potential causes.
Process Capability
Measures whether a process can consistently produce outputs that meet design specifications.
Specification Limits
The upper and lower limits set externally by customers or standards to determine quality of outputs.
One-Sided Specification Limits
Limits that only require either an upper or lower specification, based on which side poses a risk to quality.
Z-score
A measure that indicates how many standard deviations an element is from the mean, used in statistical analysis.
Cumulative Percentage
The running total of frequencies, shown as a percentage, often used in Pareto charts.
Defective rate
The percentage of products or outputs that do not meet quality standards.
Quality Control
The practice of ensuring that products and services meet established quality standards.
Excel Charting
The process of creating visual representations of data within Microsoft Excel to analyze information.
