What is the AP European History exam format?
The exam format includes 55 multiple-choice questions, 3 short answer questions, and 2 free-response questions. The exam is broken down weight-wise with 40% being allotted to the multiple choice section, 20% to the short answer sections, and 40% to the FRQs. Students are allotted 55 minutes to complete the multiple-choice section, 40 minutes for the short answer section, and 1 hour and 40 minutes to compose their responses to the free response questions.
