It’s never too late to get ahead for back to school shopping & as a very recent graduate I felt the need to go scouting for prime day dorm necessities. I tapped into my underclassmen days to remember the products that were (and definitely were NOT) worth it, to make sure I can find you guys the best Prime Day college shopping deals.

Before you Shop

I love to shop deals as much as the next person, but we are too smart to fall for false deals in 2024. As you’re shopping today, make sure to use an Amazon price tracker to make sure that the deal is ACTUALLY a deal. I like to use CamelCamel, but there’s a ton of extensions you can also use on chrome to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible.

Bedding & Sleep Stuff

College Dorm Bedding set (LINK)

Well I really shouldn’t have to explain this one… you will 100% need a bedding set and it typically works out cheaper if you buy in as a set instead of individually. The reviews sold me on this one!

OG Price 139.98 // with discount $69.99 (CODE: AZA5EEQV)

Twin XL 3 piece sheet set (LINK

OG Price 57.99 // with discount 23.79

Comforter set and sheets (LINK

OG Price 54.99 // with discount 33.99

Mattress Topper (LINK)

Dorm Room beds are notorious for being extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Trust me, the last thing you need in college is sleepless nights that leads to exhausting days. A solid mattress topped will last you years.

OG Price 59.00 // with discount $18.90

Fairy Lights (LINK)

If you’ve been inside a dorm room at any point in your life, you know fairy light are the way to go. Nobody likes that big white light, so putting up some cheap fairy lights will transform the aura of your dorm room & make you feel more at home.

OG Price : $10 // with discount $5

Vacuum Cleaner (LINK)

trust… you’ll need this. especially if your dorm room has carpet.

OG Price $79.99 // with discount: $35.98

LONG AF Phone Charger
(LINK)

This is one of those niche things you won’t understand until you’er actually at college. A super long cable to charge your phone if very handy cause the outlet won’t always be near your bed and extension cord are banned in more dorms.

OG Price : $17.99 // with discount : $12.44

Under bed Storage Containers

Your dorm room is smaller than you think it is. Get those storage containers to pack away stuff you’re not using and tuck it under your bed.

OG Price : $19.99 // with discount: $14.30

(LINK)

Command Hooks

If you plan to put anything up on your wall you’ll need command hooks. They usually get harder to find in August when everyone’s buying them so stock up earlier.

OG Price : $20 // on discount $14.99

(LINK)

SHOWER STUFF

Communal showers are an experience… make it less scary with some preparation.

2 Sets of Bath Towels (LINK)

One set of towels won’t cut it in college, make sure to have 2 or 3 sets you can cycle through. That way, when one is in the wash, you can use the other .

OG Price : 45.99 // with discount : $24.93

Shower Filter (LINK

OG Price 35.86 // with discount $28.69

Study & Technology Stuff

Under Armour Unisex-Adult Hustle 6.0 Backpack (LINK)

You’ll be walking around a lot so make sure to invest in a sturdy backpack that’s got a tech pouch to keep your devices safe. I personally love this one that I bought as a freshman and used all 4 years of college.

Original price: $55 // with discount $41.25

Criss cross desk chair (LINK

Check to see if your dorm comes with a chair for the desk or not. If it doesn’t, stock up on a desk chair. You’ll be spending a lot of time on it so don’t cheap out.

OG price 139.99 // with discount $90.99 (CODE: QBMOG3K4)

Wireless Noise Canceling Beats Headphones (LINK

There will come many times in college where you will need to block out all the noise and lock in.
A good set of noise cancelling headphones will get you though lectures, sitting on the bus and your workouts for years to come.

OG Price 349.99 // with discount $169.99

Apple Pencil 2 (LINK)

If you’re planning to get an iPad for school (highly recommend!), I’d also get an Apple Pencil. This was definitely one of my top 5 purchases for college & I still use it now.

OG Price : $129 // with discount : $79.99

Air Purifier (LINK

The air in my dorm room was nasty and part of the reason I would get sick all the time. An air purifier & a humidifier was a game changer for someone like me, who has bad allergies
