Grip
The way a player holds the racket to hit shots.
Serve
The most important hit in tennis, initiating the point.
Forehand
The basic hit made after the ball bounces using the skillful arm's side.
Backhand
A hit made on the opposite side of the forehand with either one or two hands.
Volley
A hit made before the ball bounces, typically near the net.
Lob
A curved shot executed upwards to pass an opponent standing near the net.
Drop Shot
A shot with reduced power aiming to land close to the net on the opponent's side.
Smash
A high shot executed from top-down, usually before the ball bounces.
Topspin
A type of spin that makes the ball drop faster than it would otherwise.
Slice
A type of spin that causes the ball to spin back in a downward motion.
Eastern Grip
A grip used primarily for forehands and backhands.
Continental Grip
A versatile grip useful for serves and volleys.
