Effect vs Affect

Effect (noun) - a change which is the result/consequence of an action or other cause, end result of an action - “the lethal effects of hard drugs”

Affect (verb A flip to V) - to make a difference to, action that changes the end result - “the dampness began to affect my health”

less common: effect (verb) - to cause something to happen - “the new policy effected a change in school rules”

affect (noun) - an emotional response - “the patient showed a blunt affect - the patient’s emotional response was blunt”
