What does Ionic bonding involve
When a non-metal and a metal
Describe the structure in ionic bonding
-The metal atoms become positive charge while non-metal atoms become negatively charged
-There is strong electrostatic forces of attraction between these oppositely charged ions
Which two groups lose electrons to form postive ions(cations)
Group 1 and 2 elements
Which two groups gain electrons to from negative ions(anions)
Group 6 and 7 elements
