G-Protein
A type of protein involved in transmitting signals from outside the cell to the inside.
Active State
The state when a G-protein is bound to GTP and is capable of relaying signals.
GDP
Guanosine diphosphate; a molecule that G-proteins exchange for GTP to become active.
Signal Transduction
The process by which a cell converts an external signal into a functional response.
Cell Growth Regulation
The involvement of signaling pathways in controlling the proliferation and differentiation of cells.
Inactivation of G-Proteins
The process by which G-proteins deactivate when they hydrolyze GTP to GDP.
Cell Differentiation
The process through which a cell changes from one cell type to another, often gaining specialized functions.
Signaling Pathways
Complex networks of molecules that work together to transmit signals within and between cells.
Signaling Mechanism
The specific biochemical processes that enable signal transduction.
Rassismus (Racism)
The belief in the superiority of one race over another, leading to discrimination.
