SECTIONAL GROUPS
- This includes sectional groups, who are quite selfish – they don’t put pressure on the gov for the benefit of the wider community, but only for their own interests
REPRESENTATION
- Think tanks aren’t representative -they’re very influential, with access to gov, they are aligned with one particular view (left/right wing/neutral)
INFLUENTIAL
- They’re very influential, but no one is sure who funds them – how are we as members of the public meant to trust that their efforts are for us
DONORS
- They’re known to boast about their connections but they do not speak about their donors
- ‘decisions meant to be made in the public interest are captured by the private interest’
- E.g. TPA think tank has many donors however, they choose not to reveal who they are – this results in suspicion from public
