Nith Bridge, Dumfries (1270) for lady dervorgilla of galloway and her sister chrustian, great-nieces of King William and the Lion and Malcom IV. from 1616 bridge managed by town council. Parapets appear c18. western arch is c15 pointed arch, 14ft wide. cutwaters, some repaired in ashlar.
Maiden Bridge, Newbattle Abbey, Dalkeith, Midlothian over river south Esk. Probably late c15, single span arched bridge, sandstone rubble with ribbed soffit and buttresses.
