Mutual Coupling
The coupling of magnetic flux fields between two closely positioned wires.
Self Coupling
The coupling of magnetic flux fields of a wire with itself.
Inductance
The property of a conductor that allows it to store energy in a magnetic field when an electric current passes through it.
Mutual Inductance
The inductance that exists between two coils when the magnetic field created by one coil induces a voltage in the other coil.
Self Inductance
The inductance that occurs when a change in current in a coil induces a voltage in itself.
Flux Linkage
The product of the inductance and the current flowing through a coil, representing the total magnetic flux linked with the coil.
Magnetic Energy
The energy stored in a magnetic field.
Ampère's Law
A fundamental law relating the integrated magnetic field around a closed loop to the electric current passing through the loop.
Coaxial Cable
A type of electrical cable that consists of an inner conductor surrounded by a tubular insulating layer and an outer conductor.
Magnetic Field Intensity (H)
A measure of the strength of the magnetic field in a material.
