Project that funded artists to create public works of art during the Great Depression

harnessed water power to generate electricity and to help prevent disastrous floods in the Tennessee Valley

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

regulate banking and investment activities

established minimum wage, overtime, record keeping, and prohibited child labor 

Home Owners Loan Corporation

provided government loans to homeowners who faced foreclosure because they couldn’t meet their loan payment

Works Progress Administration

set out to create as many jobs as possible and as quickly as possible. Gave jobs to more than 8 million workers. Built railroads, airports, public buildings, and worked on construction.

Securities and Exchanges Commission

supervised stock market and eliminated dishonest practices.

Federal Emergency Relief Administration

helped states provide aid for the unemployed

employed writers, editors, and researchers to document American life

Emergency Banking Relief Act

banks were inspected by the Treasury Department and those stable could reopen 

Agricultural Adjustment Act

aided farmers and regulated crop production

Rural Electrification Administration

provided affordable electricity for isolated rural areas
