Divisions of eschatology
1. Personal-End times for the individual focus on individual people; Focuses on individual people (Doctrine of death
Intermediate state)
2. Cosmic-Worldwide eschatology; Looks at mankind as a whole (Rapture [begins here]; Tribulation period; Millennium; Eternity
Considerations of eschatology
It is a prime issue in theology and it is part of the whole of theology
We must study it carefully but yet avoid careless conjecture
We must interpret the meaning of the prophecies but yet apply them to one's life
Three types of death
1. Physical death
2. Spiritual death
3. Eternal Death
Physical Death
Definition- the separation of the soul/spirit from the physical body as a result of Adam and Eve's sin in the garden
Remedy-

a. The unsaved perspective: death is scary; "heaven is earth"

One party is bound to the requirement of the covenant
Conditional covenant
Both parties are bound by the covenant

To keep a divine promise
