Mist
A mixture of tiny droplets of water and air that obscures view.
Solution
A clear mixture of a solid, liquid, or gas in a liquid where the solute is finely divided.
Suspension
A turbid mixture of a solid in a liquid, where particles are too large to let light through.
Emulsion
A turbid mixture of two liquids where one liquid is dispersed in another.
Emulsifier
An auxiliary substance that helps keep an emulsion mixed.
pH
A scale that indicates the acidity or alkalinity of a solution, ranging from 0 to 14.
Acidic Solution
A solution with a pH less than 7, indicating higher concentration of hydrogen ions.
Alkaline Solution
A solution with a pH greater than 7, indicating higher concentration of hydroxide ions.
Neutral Solution
A solution with a pH of approximately 7, indicating no effect from acids or bases.
Dilution
The process of reducing the concentration of a solute in a solution by adding more solvent.
