World Health Organisation Definition of Health
A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, rather than just the absence of disease or infirmity.
Relative Nature of Health
Refers to comparing a person's health status to that of others or to another time in their life.
Dynamic Nature of Health
Refers to the fact that an individual's health status is continually changing and can change dramatically with little notice.

5 Dimensions of Health
The five interrelated components that provide a full picture of health: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Social, and Spiritual.
Physical Health
The dimension of health about the body, fitness, nutrition, exercise, diet, injury, illness, and sleep, rather than just being sick or injured.
Emotional Health
The dimension of health concerning mood, general emotional state, and the ability to recognize, regulate, and express feelings adequately.
Mental Health (Dimension)
The dimension of health regarding brain functioning, thought processes, problem-solving, self-esteem, controlling thoughts, and having a positive or negative outlook.
Social Health
The dimension of health regarding the ability to make and maintain meaningful relationships with others and build strong support networks.
Spiritual Health
The dimension of health relating to an overall sense of purpose in life, faith, and belief systems.
Dimension
A measurement of something in a particular direction.
Balanced Lifestyle
Having the right amount of rest, sleep, play, work, leisure, and recreation in daily life to enhance health without overemphasizing one component at the expense of others.
Incidental Physical Activity
Physical activity performed as a normal part of day-to-day life, such as taking the stairs, carrying shopping, or vacuuming.
Accumulated Physical Activity
Planned moderate physical activity that is added up in smaller blocks throughout the day to meet daily health and fitness targets.
Daily Physical Activity Guidelines (Ages 5–17)
Recommends at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily (mainly aerobic), with muscle and bone strengthening activities at least 3 days per week.
Daily Screen Time Guidelines (Ages 5–17)
Recommends limiting sedentary recreational screen time to a maximum of 2 hours per day.
Sleep Guidelines (Ages 5–13)
Recommends 9 to 11 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night for optimal health.
Sleep Guidelines (Ages 14–17)
Recommends 8 to 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night for optimal health.
Aboriginal Spirituality
A way of thinking and living closely connected to nature, teaching that everything—people, animals, plants, land, and sky—is interconnected.
The Dreaming
A foundational concept in Aboriginal culture that explains how the world was created and how people should care for the land and each other.
Ancestral Beings
Spiritual architects in Aboriginal spirituality who emerged during the Dreamtime to shape the land, create people, and establish laws and customs.
Physical Fitness
Indicates the body's ability to physically function efficiently, effectively, and without injury across a range of situations.
Mental Fitness
Indicates the mind's ability to function efficiently and effectively across a range of situations.
World Health Organization Definition of Mental Health
A state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.
