How does the law uphold or enforce inequalities in this situation?

Because the factory is outside of the US, Nike went to countries where there were no unions or anything to protect the workers from bad working environments or bad pay

Are the power structures in this situation similar to the power structures observed in Stampp’s reading? How are they similar or how are they different?

In terms of similarity, they both have “lower” workers being worked hard and taken advantage by the people who control them with very little means of escaping this. This can play into elitist conflict, as their “ruling class” keeps them down and it is unlikely for them to gain power over their ruler.

In The New Free Trade Heel, the slaves did not have much of any choice but to continue working for their masters or face the likely harsh consequences of possible unsuccessfully going against them.
