Visual Control Zone
A visual control zone is the distance ahead that you look while driving to identify hazards and make safe driving decisions.
There are 3 zones:
Short-range: 4–6 seconds ahead
Mid-range: 12–15 seconds ahead
Long-range: 20–30 seconds ahead
Ideal Zone for All-Around Driving
With good pavement, light to moderate traffic, and good weather, the ideal visual control zone is the mid-range zone (12–15 seconds ahead).
Three rules for passsing on the right in RI

Yield to all cross traffic and pedestrians
