superior and inferior vena cava

transport deoxygenated blood from the systemic circulation to the right atrium

right atrium

receives deoxygenated blood from the systemic circulation

right ventricle

pumps deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary circulation

left atrium

receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary circulation

left ventricle

pumps oxygenated blood to the systemic circulation

Tricuspid, Pulmonary, Bicuspid (mitral) and Aortic valves:

prevent backflow of blood

pulmonary trunk

transports deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary arteries

right and left pulmonary arteries

transport deoxygenated blood to the lungs

right and left pulmonary veins

transports deoxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium

aorta

transports oxygenated blood to the systemic circulation

braciocephalic trunk

transports oxygenated blood to the right subclavian and right common carotid arteries

right subclavian artery

transports oxygenated blood to the right upper limb

right common carotid artery

transports oxygenated blood to the right side of the head and neck

left common carotid artery

transports oxygenated blood to the left side of the head and neck

left subclavian artery

transports oxygenated blood to the left upper limb

chordae tendinae

attach the cusps of the atrioventricular valves to the papillary muscles

papillary muscles

secure the atrioventricular valves during ventricular contraction

interventricular septum

separates the right and left ventricles

fossa ovalis

a remnant from fetal circulation - was an opening between the right and left atria

ligamentum arteriosum

ligament between the pulmonary trunk and the aorta; remnant from fetal circulation which allowed blood in the pulmonary trunk to flow into the aorta

visceral pericardium (epicardium) and parietal pericardium

serous membrane that produces pericardial fluid to decrease friction as the heart contracts

Right and left coronary arteries, left anterior descending artery and circumflex artery

supply oxygenated blood to the myocardium

coronary sinus

drains deoxygenated blood from the myocardium
