Democracy
it is a form of government in which political authority comes from the people, who exercise it by electing representatives or voting directly on public matters.
Republic
A form of government in which political authority is exercised by elected or appointed officials, and the head of state is not a hereditary monarch. Government operates according to a constitution and laws.
Dictatorship
is a form of government in which one person or a small group controls most political power, with limited opposition and few checks on their authority. It happens when power becomes concentrated and limits on government control are weakened or removed
Theocracy
Is a form of government in which political authority is held by religious leaders or institutions, and government decisions are based on religious beliefs or laws.
Monarchy
A form of government in which political authority is held by a monarch (such as a king or queen), and the position is usually inherited through a royal family. It happens when leadership is passed down by bloodline rather than chosen by ordinary elections
Constitutional Monarchy
Constitutional Monarchy – A form of government in which a monarch (king or queen) serves as the head of state, but their powers are limited by a constitution, while political power is exercised by elected leaders.
Oligarchy
it is a form of government in which political power is held by a small group of people, usually based on wealth, family, military influence, social status, or other forms of power, rather than being widely shared among the population.
Absolute Monarchy
A form of government in which a monarch (king or queen) holds most or all political power, with few limits on their authority and little control from other government institutions.
Federal System
A system of government in which power is divided between a central government and regional governments, allowing both levels to make decisions and govern within their own areas of authority.
Unitary System
Is where the central (national) government holds the highest authority and controls the country. Local governments, such as provinces, cities, or towns, only have the powers given to them by the central government and cannot act independently beyond those powers.
How many forms of government are there
there is no single official list of forms of government. Different textbooks, teachers, and political scientists classify them differently.
