-olol

Beta blocker — SLOWS heart rate & lowers BP (blocks adrenaline). Mnemonic: " you're a beta LOL slow down”

-pril

ACE inhibitor — lowers BP, common side effect = dry cough. Mnemonic: " April showers. Dry cough“

-sartan

ARB — lowers BP, same job as -pril but NO cough. Mnemonic: " Satan doesn't cough down in hell “

-dipine

Calcium channel blocker — lowers BP, can cause ankle swelling. Pine in the calcium river

-statin

Cholesterol lowering (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). Mnemonic: "lower your fat stat “

-cillin

Penicillin antibiotic.

-mycin

Antibiotic (macrolide/aminoglycoside) — some types harm hearing/kidneys. “It’s my sin to forget that it’s an antibiotic”

-cycline

Tetracycline antibiotic — stains teeth, avoid in kids/pregnancy. CYCLING = cycline = antibiotic
