So why does CEH lead to a pyo? (paragraph form)

During diestrus, progesterone causes the uterine glands to become more active and produce secretions. With repeated hormonal exposure, the glands can become cystic and enlarged.

Those secretions + changes in the uterus make it easier for bacteria to grow.
