Regular -ar Endings

Yo: e; Tú: aste; Él, Ella, Ud.: o; Nosotros: amos; Ellos, Ellas, Uds.: aron

Regular -er/-ir Endings

Yo: i; Tú: iste; Él, Ella, Ud.: io; Nosotros: imos; Ellos, Ellas, Uds.: ieron

Ir (To go) & Ser (To be)

Verbs that share the same preterite forms: fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fueron

Dar (To give) & Ver (To see)

Verbs that share almost the same preterite forms: di, diste, dio, dimos, dieron

Stem-Change (Irregular Group) Endings

Yo: e; Tú: iste; Él, Ella, Ud.: o; Nosotros: imos; Ellos, Ellas, Uds.: ieron

Irregular stem: hic

Tener

-ir Stem Changes

Changes (e → i -OR- o → u) that ONLY HAPPEN IN 2 FORMS: ÉL, ELLA USTED -AND- ELLOS, ELAS, USTEDES

-car Spelling Change

Changes to -que in the “YO” FORM (example: Buscar → Yo busqué)

-gar Spelling Change

Changes to -gue in the “YO” FORM (example: Jugar → Yo jugué)

-zar Spelling Change

Changes to -ce in the “YO” FORM (example: Empezar → Yo empecé)
