Goal of the Practicum
Determination of the concentration of sodium hydroxide by titration with a standardized 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Research Problem
To determine the concentration of sodium hydroxide using titration with a 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Materials
Buret, statief, buretklem, 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask, 100 mL graduated cylinder, 10 mL pipet, funnel, white card.
Substances Used
Phenolphthalein, distilled water, NaOH solution, and 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Procedure
Add phenolphthalein to NaOH in Erlenmeyer flask, fill buret with HCl, titrate until colorless, record volumes, repeat 3 times, calculate average volume.
Calculations
Calculates the concentration of NaOH in the solution expressed in mol/L and m/V%.
