Foramen lacerum
A foramen in the skull that allows for the passage of arteries and nerves.
Foramen magnum
The large opening at the base of the skull through which the spinal cord passes.

A foramen in the sphenoid bone that serves as a passage for the Mandibular nerve.
Foramen spinosum
A small foramen in the sphenoid bone that allows for the passage of the middle meningeal artery.

A bone feature that forms part of the cranial floor and contributes to the eye socket.
Hypoglossal canal
The canal in the occipital bone that allows the hypoglossal nerve to exit the skull.
Jugular foramen
An opening between the temporal and occipital bones for the internal jugular vein.
Mandibular fossa
A depression in the temporal bone that articulates with the mandibular condyle.
Mastoid process
A protrusion from the temporal bone located behind the ear, serving as an attachment for neck muscles.
Maxilla
The upper jaw bone that contains the upper teeth and supports the nasal cavity.
Occipital bone
The bone forming the back and base of the skull.
Occipital condyle
The rounded projections on the occipital bone that articulate with the first cervical vertebra.
Opening of carotid canal
The opening in the temporal bone for the passage of the internal carotid artery.
Palatine bone
A bone that forms part of the hard palate and contributes to the structure of the nasal cavity.
Parietal bone
The bone forming the top of the skull.
Sphenoid bone
A complex bone located in the middle of the skull, contributing to the orbits.
Styloid process of temporal bone
A slender pointed piece of bone just below the ear, serving as an attachment for muscles.
