Generate codes (systematically work through data)
Organise/search for themes (group related codes into potential themes)
Check/review themes (ask if themes reflect data, change etc if needed)
Finalise/define/name (establish what each theme represents and name, interpret not describe)
Write up (detailed analysis using ppt quotes as evidence)
Inductive v Deductive TA?
Inductive = data driven. Deductive = guided by existing theory/questions
TA strengths:
iterative (move back and forth)
theoretically and epistemologically flexible
rich understanding TA
TA limitations:
research interpretation can cause subjectivity
themes need careful reviewing/transparency
