Newton’s 1st Law
Inertia
An object at rest stays at rest
An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
Newton’s 2nd Law
Force = Mass x Acceleration
More force → more acceleration
More mass → less acceleration
Newton’s 3rd Law
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Example of 1st Law
A seatbelt prevents your body from continuing forward during a sudden stop
Example of 2nd Law
A soccer ball sitting still is kicked. The harder you kick, the faster the ball speeds up
Example of 3rd Law
A rocket pushes gas downward; gas pushes the rocket upward
