Spincast Reel

a fishing reel mounted on a spinning rod

Eyes (pole & hook)

The opening at the end of the hook where the line is tied. Also the openings along the pole through which the line is threaded.

Hook Keeper

Also called a Keeper Ring. A little ring that gives a place to hook your hook so you wont impale yourself when your on the move.

Line Release Button

The button on a reel that allows the line to be cast.

Reel Handle

The rotating handle on a reel that is turned to slowly recall the line back to the reel.

Rod

The end of the hook where the tackle meets the fish.

Barb (of the hook)

A type of a reverse point that is designed to keep a fish on the hook after the fish bites.
