What is Motion?
A body is said to be in motion when its position changes continuously with respect to a stationary object (reference point) and with time.
What is Rest?
A body is said to be at rest when its position does not change with respect to a stationary object (reference point) and with time.
Differentiate between Distance and Displacement.
The total path length covered by a body is called distance, which is a scalar quantity. The shortest straight-line path between the initial and final positions of a body is called displacement, which is a vector quantity.
Define Speed.
The distance covered by a body in unit time is called speed. It is a scalar quantity. The formula is: Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}$$
