Touristic services
The set of benefits (transport, accommodation, gastronomy, guides, activities) that satisfy a tourist's needs during their travel and stay outside their habitual environment.
Intangibility
A characteristic of tourism services meaning they cannot be touched or seen before they are consumed.
Inseparability
A characteristic where services are produced and consumed at the same time; the service happens at the moment it is provided.
Heterogeneity/Variability
A service characteristic where quality varies depending on who provides it, when, and how.
Perishability (Caducidad)
A characteristic meaning services cannot be stored; for example, an empty bus seat cannot be saved to be sold later.
Seasonality
The phenomenon where demand for tourism services varies according to the time of year (high vs. low season).
Transport Infrastructure
The fixed physical base upon which transport circulates, including routes, railways, airports, ports, and terminals.
Mobile park (Parque móvil)
The set of vehicles (buses, trains, planes, ships) that effectively provide the transport service.
Regular service
Transport services with fixed, pre-established schedules and routes, such as passenger trains or bus lines.
Discretionary/No regular service
Transport hired according to demand without fixed schedules or routes, such as excursions, charters, or private transfers.
National Route 9
A key route connecting CABA with La Quiaca (Jujuy), passing through Rosario, Córdoba, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, and Salta.
National Route 40
A route running parallel to the Cordillera from Cabo Vírgenes (SantaCruz) to La Quiaca (Jujuy), serving as an axis for adventure tourism.
National Route 14
Known as the "Ruta del Mercosur," it connects Ceibas (EntreRıˊos) to Bernardo de Irigoyen (Misiones).
Provincial Route 73
A Route in Jujuy that connects Humahuaca with Caspalá, Santa Ana, and Valle Grande.
Paso de Jama
An international pass in Jujuy (RN 52) that is part of the Bioceanic Corridor and operates continuously all year.
Cristo Redentor
International pass in Mendoza (RN 7) and the country's point of highest commercial and vehicular traffic with Chile.
Paso de los Libres - Uruguaiana
The main land customs point for Mercosur cargo traffic, located on RN 14 between Argentina and Brazil.
FC General Belgrano
A narrow-gauge (Trocha Angosta) railway network in northern Argentina, strategic for regional economies and border integration.
AVE (Spain)
A radial high-speed rail network centered in Madrid that achieved commercial speeds of 300 km/h in 1994.
TGV (France)
A concentric high-speed rail system centered in Paris that began commercial operations in 1981. house
Shinkansen
Inaugurated in 1964 in Japan as the first high-speed rail system in the world, also known as the "bullet train."
Tren a las Nubes
A Salta tourist train reaching the La Polvorilla Viaduct at over 4.200 m s. n. m., designed by Richard Maury.
Tren del Fin del Mundo
A narrow-gauge (500 mm) historical train in Tierra del Fuego that recreates the "Train of the Prisoners" route.
Tren Ecológico de la Selva
A train in Iguazú National Park that uses LPG gas to preserve the ecosystem while transporting visitors to the Devil's Throat station.
La Trochita
The "Old Patagonian Express," a living heritage train using 1920s steam locomotives on a 750 mm narrow gauge in Chubut and Río Negro.
Tren de la Costa
A 15,5 km suburban and tourist service with 11 stations between Vicente López and Tigre, bordering the Río de la Plata.
Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (Subte)
Inaugurated in 1913 as the first subway in Latin America, it currently consists of 6 lines (A, B, C, D, E, and H) and a Premetro.
