Matter
Anything that has mass and takes up space (volume).
Mass
The amount of matter in an object or sample. Common units include kilogram (kg), gram (g), and milligram (mg).
Volume
The amount of space that a material takes up. Units: solid-cubic metres (m³), cubic centimetres (cm³); gas or liquid - litres (L), millilitres (mL)
Physical Properties
Characteristics of matter that can be observed or measured without changing its chemical identity.
Melting Point
The temperature at which a substance changes from solid to liquid state.
Boiling Point
The temperature at which a substance changes to a gaseous state.
