Fill in the blanks with the correct term:

Pancreatic cells make digestive enzymes that get released into the small intestine.

What macromolecule are most enzymes? Blank 1

Which organelles would be abundant in pancreatic cells to make these digestive enzymes? List the organelles in the order they would appear in the process of protein synthesis (Use Figure 4.23) Include the vesicles in your answer.

Hint: the figure does not show the organelle that actually makes the primary structure of the protein. This organelle (which you've studied! should be the first answer in your list.)

Blank 2 -> Blank 3 -> Blank 4 -> Blank 5 -> Blank 6

skeletal muscle cells essentially engage in large shape changes to pull on bones to create movement. To do this shape change, skeletal muscle cells require a lot of energy and the production of a lot of protein used inside the cell to make the structures that change the shape.

Name 3 organelles that would be important in this function:

The organelle important for producing the energy required: Blank 1

(Ch 2 and 3 review: What is the scientific name for this energy? Blank 2)

The organelle that would produce the proteins that cause the shape changes? Blank 3

The organelle that are the proteins that participate in the shortening or contraction of the muscle fiber (cell): Blank 4

Osteoclasts break down bone matrix and recycle the collagen protein fibers as part of their job to release calcium and other minerals found in the matrix into the blood. What organelle would be important for this break down?

lysosome
