autosomal recessive, autosomal dominant, x-linked recessive, x-linked dominant, y-linked

autosomal dominant

never skips generations, affected parents can have unaffected children

autosomal recessive

skips generations, unaffected parents can have affected children

x-linked dominant

Disease never transfers from father to son, all daughters of affected dad will be affected though

x-linked recessive

males are more affected, mother to son or father to daughter, never dad to son
