Moulding
A manufacturing process that involves shaping materials, often using a mold, to create specific forms or components. Commonly used in plastics, metals, and concrete
Pultrusion
A manufacturing process used to create continuous lengths of composite materials with a constant cross-section. In this process, raw materials (typically fibers and resin) are pulled through a heated die, which shapes and cures the material.
Lamination
Bonding multiple layers of material together to create a composite with enhanced properties.
Cement
Strong, durable composite made from cement, water, and aggregates, used in construction for foundations and structures. It hardens over time through hydration.
Engineering wood
A man-made wood product created by binding or fixing strands, particles, fibers, or veneers together with adhesives to form composite materials.
Fiberglass
Made from fine glass fibers embedded in a resin matrix. Known for its lightweight, strength, and resistance to corrosion.
Kevlar
A high-strength synthetic fiber known for its exceptional tensile strength and lightweight properties. It is commonly used in applications requiring durability and resistance to impact, such as bulletproof vests.
Carbon reinforced plastics (CRP)
A composite material made by embedding carbon fibers in a plastic matrix, typically epoxy or polyester. Known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness, and durability.
Laminated veneer lumber
An engineered wood product made by bonding together thin layers of wood veneers with adhesives.
Carbon Fiber
A strong, lightweight material made from thin strands of carbon atoms bonded together in a crystalline structure.
