Love for God
It is a virtue that enables us to recognize God’s goodness and desire to be a better person.
Purity
It is being true and good to one’s thoughts, words, and actions.
Conversion
Conversion means change.
Metanoia
Change of heart, change of the inner man, repentance.
Interior Conversion
A radical reorientation of our whole life, a return, a conversion to God with all our heart, an end of sin, a turning away from evil.
Pride
It is an attitude that fails us to recognize God as God and others as brothers and sisters and so the need for God and other people.
Ignorance
Failure to realize one's spiritual lost condition.
False Belief
One’s beliefs can provide a basis for his/her thoughts and actions.
Temptation
An invitation to sin. It is a constant pull toward sin for its alluring, deceiving beauty with a false promise of joy.
Interior Contrition and Purpose of Amendment
Accepting and feeling sorry for the sins committed with the intention of making up for the hurt or damage done and totally renewing oneself.
Actual Confession of Sins and Priestly Absolution
Going to confession and receiving the priest’s absolution.
Conversion
A continual process of renewal and becoming a better person.

Responsible
It is exercising one’s freedom in pursuit of what is true and good.
Freedom
It is the capacity to act or not to act. It is the power to perform or not to perform, to do or not to do.
Authentic Freedom
To be free is to do good.
Evil
It offers nothing but slavery.
Moral Conscience
Helps us in determining the morality of our acts in the given situation.
Responsible
One is to be accountable, accepting the consequences of our actions, and serving justice for everyone.
Respectful
Respect for others arises from the truth that each person is free and has dignity.
LESSON 3: JESUS EXEMPLIFIES THE LAW OF LOVE
Love
It is a virtue of willing the good of another person.
Order
It is putting one’s desires and inclination on what is good for oneself, others, and nature.
Law
An ordinance of reason, promulgated by competent authority for the sake of the common good.
Ordinance
It is a command, an order. It is something that we have to follow.
Reason
Law is not based on a capricious whim.
Promulgated
Law has to be made known to the people.
Competent Authority
Individuals who have the sufficient knowledge and skills and legitimate power.
Common Good
Law is intended for the good of all not for the few.
Natural Law
It is the law of God that we know by our reason.
Universal
This means that all of us have this law present in our hearts.
Immutable
It is unchanging.
New Law
The law of love, the law of grace, the law of freedom, and the law of the Gospel.
Law of Love
It makes us act out of love infused by the Holy Spirit, rather than from fear.
Works of Mercy
Concrete charitable acts.
