Computer
An electronic device that processes data and performs tasks according to a set of instructions.
Hardware

Central Processing Unit CPU
The "brain" of the computer. It performs calculations and executes instructions. It's where all the processing happens.
Memory (RAM)
Short-term memory that stores data that the CPU is actively using. It is fast but temporary — when you turn off the computer, everything in ___ is lost.
Storage
This is where all your files, programs, and data are kept long-term.
Input Devices
Devices that allow you to interact with the computer.

refers to the programs and operating systems that tell the hardware what to do. Can be divided into two types.
Operating Systems OS
the main software that controls the hardware and manages all other software.
Examples of an Operating system
Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS
Applications
specific programs that perform tasks.
Examples of Applications
Web browsers, word processors, games, media players
Input
You give the computer information (through keyboard, mouse, microphone, etc.).
Processing
The CPU processes this information according to the instructions from the software.
Output
The computer gives back results (on the monitor, through speakers, etc.).
Storage
Data is saved on storage devices for future use.
File Management
You can store, organize, and retrieve files on your computer. Files can be anything from documents to photos or videos.
Networking
Computers can connect to each other, sharing information over networks like the internet or local networks.
Security
Computers can be vulnerable to threats like viruses, so it's important to have protection (such as antivirus software) and understand safe browsing practices.
Desktop
The main screen you see when you start your computer, where icons for programs, files, and settings are displayed.
File
A collection of data stored on the computer. Files can be documents, images, videos, etc.
Folder
A container that holds files. It helps you organize your files into categories.
Browser
A software application used to access websites. Examples include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari.
Download/Upload
means transferring data from the internet to your computer, while uploading is sending data from your computer to the internet
Websites
A collection of related web pages you can access via a browser.
Search engines
Tools like Google, Bing, and Yahoo that help you find information on the internet.
A method of sending and receiving messages electronically. Examples include Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Outlook.
Restarting
If something isn't working, restarting the computer can often solve the problem.
Updating
Ensure your operating system and software are up to date to fix bugs and improve security.
Checking cables
Make sure everything is properly connected (especially for desktop computers or printers).
