• Location: ovary surface

• Function: secretion and absorption

Simple columnar

• Location: rectum and stomach

• Function: absorption

Stratified squamous

• Location: Esopahgus and mouth

• Function: protect from abrasions

Stratified cuboidal

• Location: sweat glands

• Function: protection

Stratified columnar

• Location: RARE, male urethra, reproductive system

• Function: secretion

Connective tissue proper; loose connective; Adapose tissue (fat)

• Function: reserve fuel, protect

• Location: under skin, everywhere

Connective tissue proper; dense regular connective tissue

• Location: tendon

• Function: muscle attach to bone

• Collagen fibers makes bones strong

• Nonvascular bc it turns into a tendon

Connective tissue proper; dense irregular connective tissue

• Location: fibrous capsule (connection, joint)

• Function: help for movement 

Cartilage: Hyaline

• Location: where ribs attach to sternum

• Function: able to withstand movement

• Location: tip of nose, earlobe

• Function: able to stretch but then go back to its form

Skeletal muscle

• Function: VOLUNTARY control (walk, flex, extend)

• Striations

• Location: all muscle

Smooth muscle

• Function: INVOLUNTARY control (body does it on its own)

• Location: digestive organs

Cardiac muscle

• Function: allows contraction of the muscle

• Location: heart
