Reduction of alkenes
R&C: H2 gas, Ni catalyst, high temperature and pressure

Reduction of nitriles
R&C: LiAlH4 in dry either OR NaBH4 in ethanol OR H2 with Ni Catalyst (ANY ONE OF 3)

Reduction of carbonyl compounds into alcohols (1° or 2°)
R&C: LiAlH4 in dry ether OR NaBH4 in ethanol OR H2 in Ni catalyst
Note reduction of aldehyde forms 1° alcohol while reduction of ketone forms 2° alcohol

Reduction of carboxylic acid to 1° alcohol
R&C: LiAlH4 in dry ether ONLY

Reduction of esters
R&C: LiAlH4 in dry ether ONLY
Products: 1° alcohol and 2° alcohol

Reduction of amides
R&C: LiAlH4 in dry ether ONLY

Reduction of nitrobenzenes
R&C: Sn in excess conc. HCl and heat, followed by addition of NaOH(aq)
