trade was common between the groups. Conflict was started over land disputes. Europeans also brought deadly diseases to the Native Americans had no tolerance to.

Slavery

first slave ship was to Jamestown consisting of 20 Africans. At first they were treated like indentured servants. Slaves were not needed in the colonies, but were wanted for cheap/unpaid labor.

Poor people from England who would sell themselves into a form of temporary slavery. They were shipped to the colonies for a few years of work, and would eventually would be free.

Why do you think gender boundaries were not as rigid in colonial America as they were in England?

Women were pivotal to the survival of early colonists. Women had lots of pwer and freedom because without them, the household would have fallen apart, thus leading o the failure of the colony.

The Seven Years War or The French and Indian War

Colonists fought for the British and won. Between the French and British for control of North America. The colonists were largely the ones who fought on behalf of England. After the win, it gave colonists confidence, a bit of an ego. (knowing they could win a war, largely by themselves)
