According to the World Health Organization (WHO), how are adolescents defined?
Adolescents pertains to the segment of population who are 10-19 years old.
How is the Age Specific Fertility Rate (ASFR) defined and calculated by the PSA?
It refers to the number of births to women of a given age group per 1,000 women in that age group. It is calculated by dividing the number of births to women of a particular age group by the female population in that age group multiplied by 1,000.
How does the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) define children?
Children pertains to the segment of population who are 0-17 years old.
What is the Demographic Dividend?
The economic growth experienced by a country as a result of the change in the country's population structure, produced by demographic transition resulting in the shrinking of the dependent age (0-14) group and expanding of the workforce (ages 15-64).
What is the Demographic Transition and what characterizes its first phase?
It is the transition from high fertility and mortality, through rapid growth, to low fertility and mortality. The first phase is triggered by an initial decline in infant mortality while fertility remains high, resulting in the swelling of the youth dependency group.
What characterizes the second phase of the Demographic Transition?
It is the phase when the proportion of the working-age population (aged 15 to 64) is larger relative to the young dependents (0 to 14 years) and the older population (65 years and above), making the number of productive working age population the highest.
What characterizes the third phase of the Demographic Transition?
The older cohort (aged 65 years and above) swells relative to the total population, which can create a slowdown in economic growth as consumers grow faster compared to productive workers.
What is Intergenerational Poverty (IGP)?
Sometimes referred to as the "Cycle of Poverty", it is described as poverty that persists from one generation to the next.
How is Migration defined under PSA Board Resolution No. 08 series of 2017?
A form of spatial or geographic mobility of people involving a change of usual place of residence between clearly defined geographic or political units during a specified period of observation for reasons such as economic, social, political, and cultural.

The level of fertility at which a population exactly replaces itself from one generation to the next.
How is Reproductive Health defined according to the ICPD Programme of Action?
It pertains to the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being in all matters related to the reproductive system, implying that people are able to have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce, and the freedom to decide if, when and how often to do so.
According to the PSA, who are women with an Unmet need for Family Planning?
Women who are fecund and sexually active, and do not want any more children or want to delay the next child but are not using any method of contraception.
What are the criteria for a barangay to be classified as an Urban Barangay under PSA Board Resolution No. 01 Series of 2017-098?
A barangay is classified as urban if it meets any of the following: (1) has a population size of 5,000 or more; or (2) has at least one establishment with a minimum of 100 employees; or (3) has five or more establishments with 10 to 99 employees, and five or more facilities within the two-kilometer radius from the barangay hall.

Vital or Civil Registration is the recording in appropriate civil registers of vital acts and events affecting civil status. Vital Acts or Events are births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages, and events affecting entrance/departure from life together with changes in civil status.
What are Vital Statistics?
Vital Statistics are statistics referring to births, deaths and marriages.
How is Youth defined according to the NYC and RA 8044?
Youth refers to those persons whose ages range from fifteen (15) to thirty (30) years old.
