A famous ballet premiered in 1877, where the Prince falls in love with Princess Odette, who is transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer. The Prince swears eternal love to Odette, but is tricked by the sorcerer, who makes him declare his love for Odile, the black swan, instead of Odette.

Pointe Shoes

A type of ballet shoe that allows the dancer to stand on the tips of their toes. They were originally made of wood to create the illusion of floating, but are now made of plaster.

Male Ballet

Ballet performed by male dancers. In the past, only noble men were allowed to dance, but now it is a popular form of dance for both men and women.
