Protection of Participants

Means that participants must be protected from physical and mental harm at all times

Right to withdraw

The participant should have the right to withdraw at all times of the experimenter; the researcher must not pressure or convince the participant.

Random Sampling

Is when everyone of target population has equal chance of participating.

Opportunity Sampling

Requires people that are more easily accessible and willing to participate.

Triangulation

A combination of different approaches to collecting and interpreting data

Researcher Triangulation

Combining the observation/interpreting of different researches.

Reflexivity

Researches should reflect on possibilities of self biases.

Personal Reflexivity

Personal beliefs and expectations of the researcher

Demand Characteristics

Participants understand or think they understand the aim of the study so their behavior changes to meet expectations of the researcher.

Experimenter Bias

Researcher unintentionally influences on the results of the study.
