Alleles
Different forms of genes for a single trait.
Dominant gene
A gene that is always expressed.
Recessive gene
A gene that is expressed only in the homozygous state.
Homozygous
Genotypes made of the same alleles.
Heterozygous
Genotypes made of two different alleles.
Homozygous Dominant
A genotype with two dominant alleles (e.g., KK, TT, AA).
Homozygous Recessive
A genotype with two recessive alleles (e.g., ee, qq, ww).
Dominant Gene Expression
Genotypes in which the dominant gene must show (e.g., EE, Dd, AA).
Recessive Gene Expression
Genotypes in which the recessive gene must show (e.g., aa).
Punnett Square Letters
The letters on the outside of the Punnett square stand for genres of the parents.
Punnett Square Inside Letters
The letters on the inside of the Punnett square stand for genes and phenotypes of the offspring.
