Travel Document

Tourist Card

Seaman's Book

A mandatory document for any port-of-entry requiring a crew transit visa, certifying that the holder is a Seaman per The International Convention on Standards of Training.

Immigration

A document issued as evidence that a non-national is entitled to enter or remain in a state's territory; also refers to the authority maintaining entry, stay, and departure records.

Customs

An authority or agency in a country responsible for collecting tariffs and controlling the flow of goods, animals, transports, personal effects, and hazardous items into and out of a country.

Customs Declaration Form

A document filled out upon arrival to declare items brought into a country, goods subject to duties and taxes, currency amounts, and restricted or regulated items.

Duty-Free Allowance for Regular Travelers

An exemption from customs duties and taxes for personal, non-commercial goods valued at ₱10,000 or less.

Duty-Free Allowance for Returning OFWs

A duty- and tax-free allowance of ₱150,000 for personal and household effects of returning Overseas Filipino Workers.

Philippine Currency Declaration Limit

The legal threshold allowing travelers to carry up to ₱50,000 in Philippine currency without prior written authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Airline

A company, also known as an Air Carrier, that provides air transportation for passengers, cargo, or both along predetermined routes.

Domestic Airlines

Airlines that fly to destinations located exclusively within the territory of the country where the aircraft is registered.

International Airlines

Carriers authorized to fly to destinations beyond the country of their registration.

Scheduled Service

Air transportation operating regularly at set advertised times regardless of the number of booked passengers.

Non-Scheduled Service (Charter Service)

Air service that sells seats typically to mass-market tour destinations, usually less expensive and operating almost non-stop.

Non-Stop Flight

A flight itinerary where a traveler travels from point A to point B on the same aircraft without any intermediate stops.

Direct Flight

A flight itinerary where a traveler flies from point A to point B on the same aircraft, but the plane stops at an intermediate airport.

Connecting Flight

A flight itinerary where a traveler must change planes one or more times to reach their final destination.

Open-Jaw Flight Itinerary

An itinerary where a traveler flies from point A to point B, travels via ground transportation from B to C, and flies from C back to A.

Circle Flight Itinerary

An itinerary where a traveler makes two or more extended stopovers before returning to the place of origin.

IATA Code

Location identifiers used by passenger airlines, boarding passes, and tickets, consisting of 3-letter codes for airports and 2-letter codes for airlines.

ICAO Code

Location identifiers used by aviation professionals like pilots and air traffic controllers, consisting of 4-letter codes for airports and 3-letter codes for airlines.
