Moderate
The position in the middle of the political spectrum.
Extremist
The term for someone who has ideological beliefs outside of the norm. The far edges of the political spectrum.
Extremist
Radicals and Reactionaries are examples. The term for people who are willing to do use violence to accomplish change.
Moderate
This position on the political spectrum shares ideological beliefs with both liberals and conservatives.
Left Wing
Radicals and Liberals are on this side of the political spectrum. People on this side tend to believe that the role of the government is to protect people and monitor the economy.
Right Wing
Reactionaries and Conservatives are on this side of the political spectrum. People on this side tend to believe the government should be smaller, and that the economy just be left alone.
Ideology
A consistent set of beliefs by groups/individuals. Often includes your beliefs about change and the role of government.
Radical
The extremist position on the far left of the political spectrum.
Reactionary
The extremist position on the far right of the political spectrum.
Liberal
The position on the political spectrum whose ideology favors more government involvement in the economy, social programs (like welfare), and minority rights.

Programs which help insure a minimum standard of living. For example: unemployment, food stamps, social security system. Programs paid for out of tax dollars.
Radical
The position on the political spectrum that is willing to use violence to get fast change- moving society forward.
Reactionary
The position on the political spectrum that is willing to use violence to go back to an earlier time.
Women's right to choose abortion
The debate about if the government should allow women to end their pregnancies.
Federal Minimum Wage
The lowest amount that companies can pay their workers. This amount was set by the US government in 2009.
