What is a Transverse Wave?
A wave in which the particles vibrate 90 degrees parallel to the direction the energy is travelling
What is a Longitudinal Wave?
A wave in which the particles vibrate in the same direction the energy is travelling
What is Refraction?
When a wave changes speed upon passing through a medium
What is Diffraction?
When waves bend around an objecth
How does Density affect Refraction?
Wave speed slows down when the waves enters a denser medium making it bend towards the normal. Vice versa
What is the E.M Spectrum?
Gamma, X-ray, Ultraviolet, Visible light, Infrared, Microwaves, TV, Radio
What are the relative Wavelengths of the E.M spectrum? (In order)
10x-12, 10x-10, 10x-8, 0.5 10x-6, 10x-5, 10x-2, 10Ă—3
What are the Relative Frequencies for the E.M Spectrum? (In order)
10x20, 10x18, 10x16, 10x5, 10x12, 10x8, 10x4
