Locker room

4. change into bathing suit or dry clothing within the time limit set by the counselors

5. Walk at all times in the locker room and bathroom

6. shower before swimming

Pool rule 1

Follow all posted pool rules at the swimming site

note: if the swimming site lists a more restrictive rule than rules 1-12 below, the child should follow the site rule

Pool rule 2

use material and possessions appropriately. For example:

1. do not stand or sit on kickboards

2. do not walk on the pool deck, jump, or dive into the pool while wearing flip flops

3. do not dive while wearing a mask

4. do not hang from or swing on ladders, lane lines, rails, ropes etc.

be responsible for your belongings

walk at all times on the pool deck

participate in swimming activities unless given permission to do otherwise. This includes when a child cannot participate because they do not have their swim suit

do not spit, splash, chew gum, wrestle, push or dunk other people

do not jump or dive from the starting blocks

pool rule 10

do not jump or dive within one body length of another person

dive from the pool edge only in the designated area

pool rule 12

use diving boards appropriately. Do not swim in the area designated for diving board use. Stand with both feet on the pool deck while another person is on the diving board. Do not hang from the diving board or rails

Note for all Pool rules (!)

for each violation of a pool rule, with the exception of number 6 and 7, the child must sit out of the pool for two minutes. If a single behavior violates more than one rule, the child must sit out for two minutes for each applicable behavior, served consecutively. If a child must serve a time out and a two-minute sit out for the same behavior, the two-minute sit out is served within the time out.
