simple squamous epithelium
Function : allows diffusion, filtration of blood, sectretion of fluids to reduce friction, protects blood vessels and heart.
Location : lungs, blood and lymph vessels, inner lining of the heart, kidneys, pleura, pericardium, peritoneum

Simple cuboidal epithelium
Function: secretes hormones/enzymes/mucus into ducts or directly into fluid, absorbs molecules from fluids, protects against damage and infection
Location : kidneys, tubules, pancreas ducts, salivary glands, thyroid gland, covers ovaries, lines testes, retina, bronchioles of lungs

simple columnar epithelium
function: microvilli helps absorb nutrients, secretes goblet cells to lubricate organs, cilia help transport cells/fluids, protects against pathogens + acid because of mucus coating
Location : lines stomach wall, small + large intestines, gallbladder, uterus lining, endometrial glands

pseudostratified columnar epithelium
Function: helps with secretion of goblet cells, transports trapped mucus + debris in lungs, helps transport sperm, absorption of excess fluids, protects against pathogens + foreign substances
Location: nasal cavity, trachea, bronchi, larynx, prostate gland

Stratified Squamous epithelium
Function : protects against stress/abrasions/pathogens, prevents water loss, continuous renewal of cells
Location : outer layer of skin, tongue, hard palate, lines mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and anus, found in cervix, lines the cornea
stratified cuboidal epithelium
Function: protects from stress/damage, secretes and transports sweat/saliva/milk, reabsorbs water + electrolytes, strengthens duct walls, selective membrane for substance moving across tissues
Location : lines the sweat ducts, mammary ducts, salivary glands, pancreases exocrine ducts, urethra, and ovarian follicles
